It is of great importance as the fifth-largest museum in North America and the largest research center in Canada. Royal Ontario Museum
The original building of the museum, which has a modern exterior, was built in 1912 and its interesting design was added to the building later. The museum, which has 12 separate sections, has such a wide content that it can be called works from all over the world. The artifacts in the museum are divided into two main sections: Natural History on the 2nd floor and World Culture on the 1st, 3rd and 4th floors. Korean art gallery, dinosaur rooms, textiles and Egyptian mummies are among the highlights of the museum. In the section on extinct creatures, models of more than 400 living species that lived in North and South America, including mammoths, are exhibited.
Buddhist sculptures from the 2nd to the 16th centuries are exhibited in the Chinese Sculpture Gallery. Daphne Cockwell Gallery of Canada, on the other hand, contains objects from indigenous peoples who lived in Canada before the colonial period. In addition, contemporary art exhibitions organized by the Institute of Contemporary Culture are held at the Roloff Beny Gallery within the museum. In this section, exhibitions such as contemporary Japanese art and fashion photography have been held so far.
Crystal Court, the courtyard covered with glass, is another must-see point of the museum. On the 5th floor there is a lounge called the Crystal Five Bistro, where delicious tapas are served alongside wine made from locally grown grapes. It has become an important museum, bringing together many works and works from Egypt to Korea, from science to art.
